Our History
Background Information
Lyndhurst shed is a social group and currently comprises mainly retired men who meet regularly at Lyndhurst community centre.
Lyndhurst shed is a recently Registered Charity No. 1214445 [perhaps show this as a footer too]
Our shed, whilst affiliated to the UK Mens’ Shed Organisation UKMSA https://menssheds.org.uk/ is open to anyone over 18.
Lyndhurst shed follows the ethos of UKMSA in that: “Men’s Sheds (or Sheds) are similar to garden sheds – a place to pursue practical interests at leisure, to practice skills and enjoy making and mending.
The difference is that garden sheds and their activities are often solitary in nature while Men’s Sheds are the opposite. They’re about social connections and friendship building, sharing skills and knowledge, and of course a lot of laughter.
We meet between 10.00 and 12.00 every first and third Wednesday in each month at Lyndhurst community Centre.
At our meetings we generally chew the fat, put the world to rights, and share: anecdotes and our knowledge gained over lives well lived.
We have a range of skills and experience which we share at our meetings and use to provide a range of services and items in the local community.
Currently we are shed-less and have over recent years tried to find the right site to locate our operation in our own shed.
In the future we hope to locate a site to build our own shed where we can locate a selection of equipment and machines for use by our members and provide facilities where we can share our knowledge and skills via training sessions for local people.
We welcome new members and provide a cup of tea or coffee for a small contribution – So just drop in..
